Q. Why do I need hd EZ lock?Answer:
hd EZ lock was designed to solve the issues with the HDMI Connection. The HDMI Connection was designed to be a "
friction lock", similar to USB Cables. The problem is that HDMI Cables are much heavier than USB Cables, and that
causes problems with the HDMI Connection.
The two most common problems are that the HDMI Connection becomes loose or completely disconnected from its input (meaning no sound and/or picture), and the Heavy HDMI Cable places a lot of stress on your HDMI Input, which is known to damage your HDMI Cable or your HDMI Input, or both. Both of these can be frustrating and expensive problems. Using hd EZ lock eliminates both of these problems completely.
Even if you've never experienced these issues, if you've invested a lot of money or time in your Home Theater, you may want to use hd EZ locks to make sure you never have these issues. It's an inexpensive way to make sure you eliminate any potential issues with the HDMI Connection while at the same time maintaining the best possible connection at all times.

hd EZ lock is the only Universal Locking Adapter available. There are other "Locking HDMI" Cables
available, but hd EZ lock is the only adapter that allows you to use your existing HDMI Cable, or the HDMI Cable of
your choice.
Additionally, hd EZ lock is more than just a Locking HDMI adapter. It's also a "Supporting HDMI Adapter", meaning it not only locks your HDMI Cable, but it also supports your HDMI Cable from your component's chassis, eliminating the stress that damages so many HDMI Components and HDMI Cables.

hd EZ lock is made using an injection-molded Nylon 6-6 material to allow for the strongest parts possible, while still allowing the flexibility needed to ensure the maximum amount of grip and to be able to work with the largest variety
of HDMI Cable shapes and sizes.
hd EZ lock also uses an ultrasonically inserted threaded insert so that it can be used over and over again.

hd EZ lock is easy to install and in most cases installs in minutes. Installation is done using either the screw
above/below your HDMI Input, or if there is no screw using the supplied 3M VHB Adhesive.
hd EZ lock includes all of the hardware needed to install, and in most cases the only additional tool required is a screwdriver used to remove the existing screw from your chassis.

Whenever possible, we recommend using the screw above/below your HDMI Input to secure hd EZ lock. There are
situations where this is not an option. For example, some units do not have a screw above or below the HDMI
Input.
In these cases, we have provided a 3M Very High Bond (VHB) Adhesive, along with alcohol cleaning pads, to attach your hd EZ lock to the chassis. We have tested a large range of adhesives, and have settled on an adhesive that works extremely well with a large variety of materials.
We have had very good success testing the supplied adhesive, and we have also had very positive reviews from our clients that have used the Adhesive Installation, comments such as "worked great" and "pleasantly surprised."
One note of caution when using the Adhesive Installation method: Surface preparation is very important for the adhesive to adhere properly. We recommend you read our Adhesive Installation Instructions prior to proceeding:

hd EZ lock is designed to work with as many HDMI Cables as possible. It will work with any cable that is manufactured
to HDMI Organization's specifications.
Many cables are built outside of the HDMI Specification and some use an extra large overmold which makes the head of the HDMI Cable very large. Even so, we have tested HDMI extensively with many different brand and models of HDMI Cables, and we have only come across a couple of cables that have been too big to work.
In certain cases with an oversized HDMI Cable, the HDMI Cable has a plastic brand name sticker applied to the head of the cable. Removing these labels may allow the cable to fit.

A lot of thought and effort was put into designing hd EZ lock to allow it to work with as many components as possible. If you have a screw directly above or below your HDMI Input (up to 3/8" from center of your HDMI Input to center
of screw), there's a very good chance it will accommodate hd EZ lock.
If there are no screws above or below your HDMI Input, we provide a 3M Very High Bond (VHB) adhesive which works very well to secure your hd EZ lock to the chassis.

Some HDMI Inputs have a recessed screw above/below your HDMI Input (common with Sony and a few others) so that the hd
EZ lock cannot attach properly to the chassis.
For these situations, we have provided a 4.5 mm Hex Male to Female Standoff Adaptor which replaces the existing screw and brings the hd EZ lock Mounting Adapter 4.5mm (3/8") away from the chassis. For more details, please visit our Standoff Installation Guide:

In most cases, using hd EZ lock on HDMI Inputs side by side is not a problem. On some units, the inputs are too close
together to fit two hd EZ locks next to each other.
In this case, we recommend staggering your hd EZ locks so that they can overlap slightly, allowing enough room to fit. Every other hd EZ lock will be brought 3/8" away from the chassis using the supplied male to female standoff adapters, allowing an additional 1/8" clearance on each side.

hd EZ lock comes with a limited lifetime warranty if you register with us within 30 days of purchase. If you do not
register, we provide a one year warranty as long as you can provide proof of purchase.
The warranty covers manufacturer's defects. It does not cover product abuse or modifications.

hd EZ lock is manufactured to be extremely strong, and has been tested under very tough circumstances and has withheld favorably.
In the event that your hd EZ lock breaks, please contact us to arrange to return it, and upon review we will determine if it is broken due to a manufacturer's defect or from normal use. If so, we will replace your hd EZ lock if it falls under your Warranty period.
