OK, so I was a bit sceptical about using the hd EZ lock. I've tried so-called "locking HDMI cables" before, and quite frankly, they didn't do much, nor did they lock very well. As a home theater installer, I put in a LOT of HDMI cables. Most work great, most of the time. But sometimes, there are circumstances that conspire to create an unfriendly environment for the HDMI cables. For instance: - Certain receivers have their HDMI ports oriented vertically (yes, you, Yamaha), making the cables very susceptible to falling out, or at least coming loose - Environments where there is a lot of moving of a component (for example, a flay screen on an articulating mount) - Very tight quarters, where there is a lot of strain on the HDMI cable - Situations where an HDMI cable is very long (and therefore very heavy), thus putting more strain on it For all of these environments, the hd EZ lock works great! Using these locks has now saved me numerous customer calls. I now ALWAYS use them whenever I put in a projector, and whenever things may move around a bit after installation. Thanks, Blue Echo, for a simple, yet well-engineered solution!

"Great product. On the project that I ordered the hd EZ lock’s for we knew we needed security for HDMI cabling, we just didn’t know if it existed yet. We have 13 Dish and 17 Time Warner set top boxes plus Various PC’s for digital signage that comprise the sources of a head end build in an MATV system. This MATV system feeds a 43 story tower, providing all of the TV content available to the floors. All of the sources are connected via HDMI so it was very important to find a locking solution that would provide a solvent connection in order to avoid unexpected outages throughout the building. The connectors are also quick and easy to remove when replacing (inevitably) a set top box that fails in the line of duty.
Congratulations on identifying the need for a locking mechanism for HDMI and then creating such a flexible, easy to use and cost-effective solution. You will have all of our business for this type of solution.
Keep up the great customer service."

"I cannot begin to say how wonderful your product is, the HDMI connection interface is a total joke and the EZ Lock changes that entirely, it is fabulous, I am planning to order a few more sets to round out all the gear in my personal systems, I simply cannot do without these locks now."

"I just wanted to say thanks! Your product fixed all my intermittent sound and picture loss!"
- Nicholas K.
"This worked very well...making for a nice snug connection, with the plug coming out at 90 degrees from the vertical and all pressure taken off the main part of the connector.
A most helpful (and inexpensive) fix to a really stupid (and unnecessary -- what were those designers smoking?) problem."

"You have an excellent product. It is easy to install and my HDMI connections are very secure and have no strain on the ends."

Locking HDMI Cables - Only half of the Picture
Recently, there's been much more attention paid to the issues surrounding the HDMI Connection, particulary the Physical Connection. The HDMI Connector was designed to work as a "friction lock", much like a USB Cable. The problem is that HDMI Cables are much bigger and heavier than USB Cables, and they have to be in order to carry the Bandwidth needed for an HDMI Signal, particularly for longer runs.
Why is this a problem? This is a problem for two reasons, the HDMI Cable can work itself loose or completely become disconnected, and the weight of the HDMI Cable can place enough stress on your HDMI Input to internally damage your component. Those that have worked in the Consumer Electronics Industry, particularly those dealing with the Installation side of things, are well aware of the problems with the HDMI Connection, and most likely are no stranger to phone calls from frustrated customers wanting to know why their Home Theater just stopped working. And with HDMI becoming much more common, more people are experiencing these issues...(continued)
Is your HDMI Cable Stressing you Out?
We often receive comments from our clients that have used hd EZ lock that they were about to give up on HDMI Cables and return to using Component Cables because of intermittent connections caused by a loose HDMI Connection. Or worse, because they damaged their HDMI Cable or HDMI Input on their Component from the stress of the heavy HDMI Cable on the HDMI Input. Their HDMI Cable was stressing them out.
That's why we designed and manufactured the patent pending hd EZ lock, the only Universal HDMI Locking Adapter on the market. hd EZ lock was designed to eliminate those issues, and it does it extremely well! hd EZ lock attaches to your component's chassis to support your HDMI Cable and "lock" it in place. It works with most HDMI Cables and Components on the market, and attaches using the existing screws above or below your HDMI Input, or with the supplied 3M VHB Adhesive (if you're skeptical about the adhesive, read our reviews...our customers are pleasantly surprise at how well it holds). hd EZ lock is very easy to install (in most cases just a couple of minutes), extremely flexible, and reusable over and over again.
But Lock your HDMI Cable you say? Why on earth would you want to lock your HDMI Cable in place...(continued)
